The approximately 2,000sf
house contains both interior and screened living spaces, a large stone
fireplace, open kitchen with large pantry, a study loft, as well as
separate bedroom suites for the owner and guests. A large wall of
windows overlooks the pond.
The interior of the house
features real
plaster walls, solid cherry wall paneling, cherry and stone floors,
custom cabinetry, and radiant heated floors throughout.
The house has a double roof system to waterproof the thick butt red
cedar shake roof and to provide ventilation in the winter and cooling
in the summer.
Stone walls and paths link the house to an open pavilion which
overlooks the pond. The design successfully integrates the
architecture and the nature that surrounds it. |
