Site
A wooded 35 acre site, sloping to a magnificent pond, provides the
setting for this retirement home. We designed the pond and dam to
provide access across a deep ravine to the house site hidden in the
trees on the other side. The driveway was laid out carefully over the
dam and through dense woods to provide a scenic approach to the house.
Program
The client desired a small retirement home that emulated the warmth of
a log cabin, but constructed with the finest materials and
craftsmanship.
Design Solution
Nestled in the trees, dry laid stone walls integrate this one story,
multi-level house with the natural features of the site. |
